Munising Snow - Venture Off Trail
Welcome to Munising Area Snowmobiling of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and our "Venture Off Trail" information.  We have a great location for you to find your off trail adventure: Great Kingston Plains.

The Great Kingston Plains is located between Munising and Grand Marais, MI along Trail #8.  Many who venture off trail there find a ton of snow, sometimes waist deep and have a blast.  There are areas along the way where you can take five and relax.

Alger County is one of the country's premiere snowmobiling locations.
Munising Off Trail Riding is the best in the Midwest!
Unique Munising, MI Off Trail Riding Experience
With many winter seasons receiving 230 inches of snow, the Great Kingston Plains can't be beat for off trail riding around Munising, Michigan. Snowmobilers can ride for miles and miles over the plains with areas that peak and dip making riding a blast.  Upper Peninsula snowmobilers can expect to continue enjoying the Great Kingston Plains area throughout the early spring - sometimes as late as April!  We invite you to experience this great and unique place.

From Munising, travel east on Trail #8 past Melstrand (and well before Grand Marais).  Before you reach Kingston Lake, you will come to a parking lot, north of the lot is the Great Kingston Plains.
Caution: When going off trail you are riding at your own risk. These areas are ungroomed and unmaintained.
